After a 12 hour bus journey over night from Oaxaca we arrived in San Cristobel at "stupid o'clock in the morning". We went to our hostel, 'Le Gite de Sol' and had a power nap. We woke up an hour or two later to loud banging thinking we were under attack! We got up to see a religious festival under way so we just strolled around town that day and enjoyed the party atmosphere.

We booked our first tour to Chiflon water fall and Montebello lakes.

We left early the following morning to go on a tour we expected to be in English but it was all in Spanish!!"As you know I'm fluent in Spanish"(Shane) so it won't be a problem!!!Luckily there was a lovely Mexican girl on the trip to translate for us, so we got the basics of where we were. If not we would still be lost in the Mexican rainforests. The sights were spectacular as you can see from the photos.

The biggest downside to the trip was the SPEED BUMPS "F*****G speed bumps" Mexicans love them we hate them.

Now we have booked our next tour to Palenque another early start.
