So we arrived into KL a day later than we had thought, happy to get there without any more dramas!! We spent our time in KL wandering around the place, taking in Chinatown and a Little India, where we had another amazing Indian meal....The highlight of our time here was going to the skybar in the evening in time to watch the sun setting whilst facing the Petronas Towers. We decided our money was better spent having a drink looking at them, rather than no drinking...

From there we headed over to Penang, the food capital of Malaysia!! It's a great little city, with all sorts of influences here. You can almost stand on any corner and see a mosque, a Buddhist temple and a Hindu temple!!! And this is reflected in its food!! From the Tioman Islands it was back to reality!! (Although in fairness our reality at the moment is pretty sweet so we aren't really complaining!!!) We were getting the overnight bus up towards the Perhentian Islands....and it was a very bumpy bus ride...we still aren't entirely sure if this was just bad driving or bad roads, or what is most likely both!! We headed over the boarder back into Malaysia, with the first stop being Tioman Island, for our birthday treat weekend!! After a mad rush to get the 2pm ferry, we were told it was full...so had a couple of hours to kill in Mersing before we could get the next ferry over....as we arrived a day early we headed up to the backpacker area, ABC. We managed to get there just in time to see the sunset over the sea and find somewhere to stay! It cost us €10 in total.....

Although you could go back to the sanctuary often for your daily fix of cuteness we decided to leave and head down to Sukau and check out the river Kinabatangan, which is Sabahs longest river with a huge amount of wildlife on the banks....so we booked into our hostel, and after a bit of negotiation, signed up for an afternoon cruise, night cruise and a nice early morning one, all on a little open topped boat.....we sat down for lunch at 12 when the rain started...
