So we arrived into Singapore and started using their very efficient public transport system straight away!! We found our hostel easy enough and then headed out to have our first catch up with Mags and Linda. Was great to see some familiar faces and exchange all our news.....we headed to one of Singapore's infamous hawker markets. These are like food courts with numerous cheap eating options of every Asian cuisine and a communal eating area...in other words food heaven!!!! Mags volunteered to choose a sample of dishes to give us an introduction into Singapore eating...and we weren't disappointed...they were super tasty!! After dinner we had a personal guided tour of the nightlife spots!!!...we weren't able to take advantage of them though, as you need to mortgage your house to go drinking here!!! It was still good to sip away at our one drink and take it all in though...especially the first sighting of lady boys!!!

The next couple of days were spent wandering around Singapore, checking out the sights, which included the Merlion and the crazy Marina Bay Sands Resort, which is 3 towers with a boat on top of it!!!...all the buildings in Singapore are a little different which makes for an amazing skyline..... Our most important task while here was trying as many hawker centres as we could!!! We had some amazing food, including the best Indian of Shanes life!!!! We cannot stress enough how good the food there was and for about 2e!!!

On the final night we met up with Linda, Mags and Caoimhe, again having really good food and then heading to the one place in Singapore that has decent priced drink!! Needless to say it was jammers there!!! It was sad saying goodbye as it had been great to see them, but hopefully they will meet up with us before we leave Asia.....
