From there we headed over to Penang, the food capital of Malaysia!! It's a great little city, with all sorts of influences here. You can almost stand on any corner and see a mosque, a Buddhist temple and a Hindu temple!!! And this is reflected in its food!! Where we have had the most amazing naan bread, some great hawker food and some more yummy roti for breakfast!!! Honestly it is fabulous, the hardest thing is trying to decide what to eat and where.
There are hawker markets but also loads of street vendors just on the side of the road, this makes for the most interesting traffic as there are no pavements here, and motorbikes seem to head in any and every direction!! So all roads have people, street vendors, cars, trishaws and motorbikes fighting for very limited space. It's a really vibrant area, especially Little India, which Shane has a particular soft spot for due to the amazing samosas he got from the street vendors!!! It really is a tale of food in the city for us...everything we had was amazing, and we could have stayed a week longer enjoying more! Our waistlines are very glad that we had to fly out to get to Indonesia to meet our friends.
