I arrived in Dunsborough just in time to check into the hostel before reception closed. There was a very nice man on reception (the owner I believe) who checked me in and even helped me carry everything up to my room - get that for service!
I did a bit of investigation on what to do in Dunsborough and unfortunately because I don't have a car there really isn't much for me to be doing on foot. So, I took the next couple days as a chance to catch up on everything I haven't done for a while. Finally loaded some pictures from my trip around Asia online and booked my ongoing travel and accommodation to Margaret River.
I will admit the real reason I came to Dunsborough was to dive the Swan wreck but after going into the dive shop and finding out they're not doing it till the weekend I was a little relieved. Not because I don't like diving or have lost the passion for it or anything but I guess I am being a little bit of a chicken...only when it comes to Great White Sharks. One was spotted in Cottesloe the other day and Jaws kept playing on TV over the weekend (not really appropriate for WA TV but still) so I guess it got to me a little bit. In Asia I didn't think twice about it but over here I don't want to be watching my back every 2 seconds in case a prehistoric monster comes swimming up and fancies me for lunch!
I did make it to the beach though, although of course it was only 100 yards from the hostel there was no way I couldn't *laugh* which is what the picture is for this pointless entry! Hopefully more interesting news from Margaret River which is my next stop.
