So we made it to Thailand. Kicking things off here on the island of Koh Lipe.
Had our first taste of Asia travel times today. Nothing leaves on time, which suits me haha. Surprised at how easy it was getting over to Thailand from Langkawi. Got picked up from our hotel and taken to the ferry port, where we were directed to check in, and then they walked us down to our gate for passport control. On the ferry with no fuss or trouble, lovely.
When arrived we got a smaller taxi boat over to shore, and o my gosh, just surrounded by crystal blue waters. Greeted by the craziest passport control, just a man sat on a plastic chair with a table, checking and stamping our passports. And we are in.
Ask a taxi to take us to a cheap place to stay, and well you get what you pay for, Seaside Resort. And by basic I mean we haven't even got bed sheets. I'm using my mosquito net to cover me. But it's set in lovely grounds and right on Pattaya beach. Headed straight to walking street, which is the main road where all the shops and restaurants are. It's very cute, so many cool restaurants and the road is bright blue which I think really makes it.
Spent the afternoon on the beach where we met up with two Canadian friends we met in Georgetown. We all went out to dinner together in the evening where we were eaten alive by the mosquitos, there are SO many!
Back now to get a much needed nights sleep.
