Well 20 hours later and we arrived at Ringside Hostel, Koh Phangan.
Night train was nothing like the other one. Small, dirty (definitely seen a cockroach) and very noisy. Windows didn't close so we heard every train that went past. Not a good nights sleep at all. And top bunk on night trains suck! Then it was a long ass bus journey to the ferry, then an even longer ass ferry journey to the island. But we arrived in one piece.
We dropped our bags off and hung by the pool to chill the rest of the day. Then it was back to the hostel for their famous pre parties. Had a BBQ and a few games of flip cup. Discovered I'm a bit of a pro. Also had a go out wet twister, Chelsea only went a won! Then went to a beach party.
Next day we did a tour with the hostel. Great way to meet everyone, went to some nice beaches and a really nice spot for lunch. Then we did the Total Wipeout course, was hard work but a lot of fun. I did not conquer the big red balls. It's actually a very beautiful island. Was the jungle rave that night. Started the evening with a BBQ on the beach, then got a tuk tuk to the rave. Had the potential to be really good, set in the middle of all the trees, but we were just not feeling the music. So had an early night and got in at 3am. Got to FaceTime the pals which was lovely as they were all together for Loz's birthday.
Then the next day was the big one, the famous full moon party. Chilled all day, sparing as much energy as possible. Then around 7pm the staff came round pouring alcohol into all of our mouths. The pre party was pretty wild but a lot of fun, then altogether headed to the full moon party which was on the beach.
Really good vibes on the beach. Just club after club along the whole beach, playing amazing music. So we arrived around half 12, got some AMAZING UV paints done, literally looked so good, grab ourselves a bucket ( I ordered my fave, strawberry daiquiri, but instead of vodka they used whiskey, and instead of strawberries they used jam!!!! Safe to say I didn't drink much of it. For £3 a bucket I'm not complaining though.) and made our way through the clubs. Danced ourselves into daylight and along with thousands of other people watch the sun come up. Very cool experience to see sooo many people raving.
I was ready for bed then, my feet were killing after 12 hours of parting and I lost my voice (still sound like a man now). Heard so many bad stories about full moon, but I loved it. Everyone was friendly and I didn't see anything dodgy. Would defiantly go again.
The day after full moon (yesterday) we slept in for most the day then had our final meal, as Sarah leaves to get her flight to Oz. Was so sad saying goodbye to her, it's been such a good 7 weeks altogether.
Then today we said bye to Sam and Lindsey, so it's back to how we started three months ago, just little old me and Chels.
We have done a bit of planning today. Booked my flight to Cambodia. Almost time to start my venture on my own. This afternoon I also went to a thai boxing class and learnt the art of Muay Thai. I absolutely loved it. But I was ready to drop after 2 hours of intense boxing, but I feel pretty bad ass for it now.
Just been for our last dinner on the island with some people from our dorm. Went to a place called Outlaws Saloon, was soooo good.
We are leaving tomorrow and making our way to the island next door, Koh Samui. Booked ourselves into a very nice hotel. It's time for a bit of luxury I think!
