So pai is a bit of alright. Just how everyone has described it to me, super chilled hippy place, and a very nice contrast to Chiang Mai.
The famous 762 turns in three hours to get there was fine, managed to get the seat in the front of the minivan. Arrived at Circus, and the vibe was electric. Very cool hostel and I've had a great few days there. There are things to do in Pai, but I spent my time laying on the hillside location, soaking up the beautiful hot sun, reading and taking dips in the not so clean pool. Still refreshing. During the day a lot of people practice circus tricks, as it's also a circus school (hense the name). Even though I didn't give it a go, was fun watching people. Stayed in a dorm made completely out of bamboo, which was cool, but had the worst nights sleep. Bamboo is not comfy and it being freezing at night didn't help. Woke up with a very sore back and neck.
The town was small and cute, some lovely restaurants and cafés. Very calm in the day and gets a bit more life at night.
Last night was my last evening, seen someone I met in Vietnam, who also was staying at Circus. We went for dinner at the best burger place (ate there two nights in a row, soooo good). Enjoyed lovely bottle of red over dinner and ended the evening by going and getting tattoos. Has to be done really. Was a right baby about it, but was worth it, I love it!!
The journey back down the 762 turns wasn't as fun this morning, was sick when we stopped for a toilet break. But I'm at the airport now, with a lot of time to spare. 5 hours till my flight to Bangkok! Next time I fly now, I'll be leaving Thailand for good! :(
