After three weeks we found out that we are actually not really studying at this university, we are just here. Strange situation at the international office but compared by a very tasty dinner.
Difficult. The project that we're having on Monday morning is very interesting, but unfortunately it is so difficult to understand the teacher and the students helping him. Also asking questions doesn't really work, nobody actually understand what we mean and we always get explained something else that what we asked for.
The project itself is good, we have to design, install and program several PLCs to run an automatic storage system. This is something we haven't done in Finland, but comes close to what I have done during my summer job.
Disappointing. The class after lunch was cancelled because this teacher's still on a business trip. So we were free during the afternoon. We stopped by the international office to ask some questions. The thing is that we can't use the library because you need a student card for that. And we don't have a Chinese student card because we don't have Chinese student number. That is because the woman at the international office said that we're not real students at this university so we will not get one. I wonder what we'll be doing at this university then. Anyways, she's going to try to get an exceptional library card so that we at least can print and scan, for example.
Also the card that we have to pay for lunch is not an original card. Because Chinese students have one connected to their bank account and when they want to top-up the money on their lunch card they can do that via these top-up machines. But because we have a different card, it could not be connected to the bank card and thus were we not able to put some money on the lunch card. Now we have to go to some special office (in the library actually) to recharge our card by paying in cash. Another nice feature of not being a real student at this university.
Delicious. Today for dinner Roman, Victoria and me went with 1 Finnish student and 3 Chinese students to a restaurant with 'rotating tables'. This means that part of the table top is rotatable and that everyone can take from different dishes which are placed in the middle. Today we had local fish, sweet potatoes, fried eggplant, spicy pork, chicken, salad and noodles. That was again a very good dinner.
After dinner we actually wanted to go to the bowling center, but because dinner took longer than we expected it already closed. Plus at 11 p.m. we had to be back in the dormitory so we didn't have enough time to play anyways. Maybe another day this week we will have some time for bowling.

Paul Chambon Hmmm strange things do overcome you over there. I hope you will not be too disappointed until so far. Gr.P.
