This was more or less a lazy day and I haven't really been anywhere special. So I will try to keep it short.
First of all I slept pretty long today; I didn't sleep very much during the trip. After that I unpacked my stuff and ate breakfast. All not very interesting.
I was also looking for other places to travel to, because I would like to see more of the country. The problem that I have is that I have classes six days a week, so there is not much time for traveling. Because they don't celebrate Christmas in China I will not be free between Christmas and New Year's Eve. My first holiday will be the Spring Festival in February, during the Chinese New Year.
But I found out though, that it might be possible to go to a mountain which is close to Jinan. It takes a few hours to get there, but that should be possible between Saturday noon and Sunday evening 11 p.m., I shouldn't be home later than that time, again. So hopefully the weather will be good some weekend and then I'll probably go there.
The less good news (for me) is that basically everything else or any other place is too far to travel to in one-and-a-half day. So I should wait until February.
In the afternoon I went for some groceries and dinner off campus. I found out something interesting; beer in the supermarket is the second cheapest drink, with water being the cheapest. The cheapest beer I found is 3.9 Yuan (52 eurocents) for one liter and the cheapest juice is 5 Yuan (68 eurocents) per liter. Probably this beer isn't very good, but most other beer costs also less than 5 Yuan. So would that mean that they don't have good beer? There's only one way to find out.
On my way back to the campus I bought some snack for the way, it is, nevertheless, at least 10 minutes of walking. I bought a barbecued piece of bread with sauce and herbs, but that was super spicy. It was definitely the spiciest thing that I have eaten in China so far. I absolutely didn't expect that. It was good, but I really needed my cold beer now to extinguish the fire inside.
