On the way to Mount Morgan to see Ross' brother we found two great freedom camping sites which asked for a small donation to keep the sites going. One was at Mitchell at the John Walton Reserve which is a large reserve on the banks of the Mitchell river. We had access to taps for water and flushing toilets. The next one was at Theodore right in the town. It had flushing toilets and hot showers which cost a dollar for as long as you wanted. We came for one night but stayed for four. Theodore was a town that was going broke. The people formed a community group. They bought the pub and the supermarket. They also run the showgrounds and the bowling club with volunteers. We went for tea to the bowls club. It was a lovely night with a great meal. We are now at Mount Morgan We arrived last Sunday and will leave next Monday so we have been here for eight days. We love the park and the people who own and run this park are just fabulous. We will be in touch when we reach our next major destination which is Charters Towers in about five to six days. We watched the races today at Caulfield. the waether looked just awful. Hope it is not as bad at Mulwala.

Wendy and Norm We love the free camp at Mitchell with plenty of room. Also the thermal pool in town was lovely.
Wendy Gillespie Happy travels, enjoy the sunshine. I'm envious of you.
