We drove from Margaret River to Denmark today via various scenic highlights. We stopped off at Cape Leeuwin, the most southwesterly point of Australia, the point where the Indian and Southern oceans meet and another lighthouse for Howellsey's collection of pics of these things! We continued along the coast and through Pemberton towards the Great Karri Forest. Here we went on a tree canopy walkway, 40 metres above the ground through ancient eucalyptus forest. Pretty cool if not a bit unnerving as the walkway really swayed! The tress can be up to 400 years old and are only found in this area. They're called tingle trees (cute!) and look like a bushy version of a redwood. After this we carried on to Denmark which is very cute and has lots of second hand book shops and a beautiful river. It also had a bakery that has won the 'best meat pie in Australia' award on several occasions. Well, it would be rude not to try one! See pic for ian's 'vinda-roo' pie! Yummy!
