An update on the last week: we arrived in Paris after a massive night out in London with Evans cousin Marty!! He has been living in London for 4 years and knows all the places to party... Shown by our massive hangovers the morning after when we boarded the Eurostar to Paris!! Arriving in Paris around 11.30am our unclear heads didn't help when we were trying to figure out how to get a train from the station to our apartment which we rented off airbnb... We also needed to call the person we were renting off to organize to meet her but of course our phones wernt working and we couldn't use the pay phones as they wouldn't take coins!! It was just all too hard... To top things off we put our tickets in the gate going to the wrong platform and when we tried to get to the next the gates wouldn't accept our tickets. To avoid re lining
up to pay another 28 euros (we got scammed into buying tix to Disneyland) I came up with the brilliant idea to run through behind someone only to get my pack stuck In the gates which are as tall as myself... Everyone was trying to push me out from behind and pull from the front but I was well and truly jammed!! We can only laugh about it now but with rotten hangovers and only minimal sleep it wasn't a pleasant experience!!
The next 4 days were spent doing walking tours with out new fav tour company sandemans new Europe tours mainly coz they are in English and the guides are young and make history exciting!! I've learnt so much about Louie the 14th and all the other kings and queens in the 17th and earlier centuries than I can imagine. We visited the montmartre district - seeing the scur cer (sorry about spelling) and the artists square what the real Paris is about and learnt more history about the famous artists (van gogh and Pablo Picasso) who lived on the hilly terrain of Montmartre.
Some of you may have seen our photos from the Palace of Versailles in our ever so stylish ponchos in the what may have looked like sunny weather!! We visited the gardens and palace on a horrible cold, windy & rainy Paris day and had to spend 50€ on ponchos, umbrella and a jumper for mwa as I only had a cardy that wouldn't kept me warm at all!! The gardens were lovely and we learnt more history about the spoilt Louie the 14th and his gardens. Periods of sunshine greeted us and then more rain and wind so it was easier to keep the ponchos on - hence the sun in the photos with our ponchos on!! Our last day in Paris was spent as Parisians do basking the sunshine in the Tuileries gardens by the fountain with bread dips and cheese with views of the louvre, arc de triomphe, champs élysées and Eiffel tower to top it off!
We're sitting here in the hostel commom room in nice now enjoying a few drinks and the music about to have pizza for dins!!
Sorry for the long post but there was a lot to say about our 5 days in Paris!!
Love Rhiannon and Ev xx

Tomas Hi John, Just read through a cuople of your articles and your About Me section and wanted to drop you a quick note. I liked the advice you gave on starting a travel blog. My boyfriend and I decided to start one and it's been going well so far, kind of hard at times to find things to write about. Overall, we wanted to start a blog to unite travelers. We've traveled on our own before we met and found it difficult at times to meet people while abroad so thought it would be great if we could start something that would link all of us together. Still in planning stages. Anyways, can't wait to read more on your travels. Hugs!Toni
