Colleen & Tom's Explorations
A slightly earlier start today (10.30am or so). We drove down to Bodiam Castle. When we were filling up with petrol I found a 10 pound note under our car (about $30!!).
The villages we passed through today, and the little lanes we drown down, were soooo beautiful. The autumn trees are lovely and losing their leaves all the time.
Bodiam Castle was really nice, it's been well preserved. It was free for us to get in to, because we're National Trust members. We had lunch there (a huge baked potato, 2 huge slices of lamb and grated carrote - 2 pound 60). Food is terribly expensive (except for the supermarket). There were 2 coaches of school excursions.
We continued on to Dover, stopping to photograph lanes, and to look at the sea, and arrived 30 minutes before closing - so we had a look a the Saxon Church and the Roman Lighthouse, and the view!! T'was free to National Trust members.
Dinner was bacon and eggs in our cottage, then we found The Bill on TV!!!
