Due to a very late night for half the group we again had a bit of a sleep in before getting up and showering and getting ready (very slowly).
When everyone was finally ready we headed out. Walking through Verona and then up to a lookout point that looked over the city, it was very very cool and very pretty! The river also still had a lot of flowing water given the temperate and heat. Once we had taken some photos and had a look around we carried on our way through the city and then stopped in a square for some lunch at a restaurant - more pizza for us! After lunch we grabbed a gelato and again continued our walk, stopping at the markets for a look around. Once we were all dying of sitting in the heat again we carried on our walk to the Verona arena for some more photos of a very cool and old place (built in 30AD).
Once we had done our exploring we found a cafe and all had a drink to cool down and have one last good chat then we headed on our way to the bus stop to go to the train station. Once we got there we realised the next bus wouldn’t come until after our train was meant to leave, so we said our goodbyes to the Irish girls after a very awesome weekend and we got on the walking school bus and headed to the train station.
We arrived to find out all trains had been delayed due to someone being hit by a train and police were investigating it. Luckily we were able to get on our train and wait in the aircon, but the 40 minute delay meant we had missed our second train from Brescia. When we finally got to Brescia we struggled to find the exit and help centre for about 20 minutes and when we finally did we found out our tickets were still valid for the next train but we’d have to wait 2 hours.
We had a walk around, grabbed a drink and a snack and surprisingly time we really fast and before we knew it we were jumping on the next train for the 2 hour ride home.
We finally got back to Parma just before 9pm (2 hours after the original time). When we got home we had salmon for dinner and then showered and went to be as we were all very tired.
