Lyminge - Kingston - Elham
It wasn't the best weather we'd ever had - in fact it was awful. But nevermind. Fully kitted out with whatever waterproof came to hand, The Ragsones (welcome to the new member, Jane) set off from the car park at Lyminge Forest for a ride over the hills to Kingston (it should have been Barham, but Peter insisted on taking a wrong turn). The ford at Barham provided a temporary rest stop before the route started climbing again - over very poor road surfaces - to reach Park Gate Elham and then a fast descent into Elham. Lunch at the Abbot's Fireside put the cyclists, and a few supporters who drove there, in good fettle, ready for the final climb (walk - except for Ruth) up Cullen's Hill, back to the carpark.
Finally, to celebrate the end of the year, kindly Judith invited us back to tea and cakes - enough for the next year. Thank you Judith - it was great to be warm, dry and well fed!
John of Millstone was unable to join the ride as he is still recovering from the plague. He has the very best wishes from the Ragstones who hope to see him soon.

And so to bed ......with the scullery mayde.
