John, Adonis, Simon and Peter made a rendezvous in Sandwich to cycle round the Isle of Thanet.
There were slight problems as the new motorway had cut the cycle path in two. Peter was sure that the sign 'road closed' did not apply to cyclists, but on this occasion it did. Having memorised the map and then having to improvise, the team took a wrong turning and ended up going to Margate rather than Westgate on Sea. Oh well, it wasn't far away.
Cycling past the famous Turner Gallery, the Team headed out through Margate, Broadstairs (past Kingsgate and North Foreland), and finally stiopped for a restbreak in the Cafe Belge in Ramsgate. Envigorated by coffee, alcohol and carbohydrates (not all had all), the team finished the ride with a sprint through Pegwell Bay to Sandwich. Finally they crossed the bridge just before it opened to allow a tall yatch to pass through.
John had ridden 150 miles in the past week, others not quite as much. At this rate the Team will complete the winter keep-fit season as mere waifs - such a change that no one will recognise them.
Finally, Sophia entertained John, Pater and Adonis with tales of the Armistace Day Parade while they indulged in yet more tea and coffee. It was a good day with loads of sunshine, but only 27 miles - that will not do!
