The Cycle Route to School
Did you cycle to school? I did - it all started in the bus strike of 1957 and once I had started, I never stopped. So, there was lots of support for Jack who wanted to cycle to school but was a little unsure of the route. No problem. The Ragstones took him for a 'dry run'. As Jack whizzed along, it soon became apparent that he'd do the journey in much less time than the Ragstones. There were a few problems with busy junctions and cycle paths in Folkestone are far from being a complete solution for cycling to school. The Ragsones hope they will improve. But with a bit of cycling and walking on pavements, the dificulties were overcome and the group made the journey to schhol, back again to Bedrock and on to lunch at the Dukes Head in Sellindge without mishap.
The test ride was a great success. Jack is very competent. The Ragstones wish him many happy hours of cycling to and from school.
