Arrived this afternoon after 2 nights at Rollimgstone. Picked up fruit on the way in and got back into our usual spot. Forcast minimum of 14 degrees so will have to pack all the winter woolies. Off to Cairns tomorrow to stock up and chill out.

Arrived in Mackay after overnight stays at Granite Creek and St Lawrence. Had fish and chips for lunch and chilli crab on the menu for tea. Been raining all morning but now windy and sunny. Staying for two nights before the final 2 or 3 days to Mareeba. All the countryside is very green with lots of fat cattle which is a bit of a contrast to western Qld. Staying at Kandanga for the next few days. For those who don't recognise the name it is 25 kms south west of Gympie. My great grandparents are buried here, hence the cemetery photo. The sad fact is that their graves are the slight depressions in the bottom right of the photo. The records did not have their names correct but we found some very helpful people here to help correct the mistakes. Also found school records of my mother's first school at Yabba Vale. Sh...

After 2 nights in Moree indulging in the hot pools we made it to Kingaroy today. Rained all day yesterday with gusty winds so was happy to be off the road. Camped at Stewart River 10 kms south of Kingaroy in a good camp site. Having goat curry and spicy potatoes for tea. One of the many meals in the car freezer. Also sipping rum lime and cola from the freezer (our own limes) Off to Kandanga (near Gympie) tomorrow for some family history research. Tough life but...
