This morning we left our campsite and went to see the sites of Gonder. We started with the Castle complex of King Fasil, which was one of the more impressive castles I've seen. The size of the complex was huge and there were different buildings everywhere. It took us about two hours to see the whole thing.

We walked back to get the truck and then proceeded onto yet another church, this is the supposedly famous one with the beautiful cherub frescoes on the ceiling. Our final stop was the kings swimming pool, which again was absolutely huge.

After the tour we were taken to hotel Lammergayer, which is lovely and I had my first shower in six days. Ewwwwww! I basically just hung around at the hotel eating, sleeping and catching up all day, after my six days in the wilderness with basically no facilities to speak of.
