After possibly one of the most horrendous nights of my life, I got out of bed and went down to where the truck was supposed to be. Dave was off trying to get it through the border. We had breakfast which was a bit strange without the truck behind us. Dave came back as were we're all sitting around talking and said "No problem!" and we all cheered, immediately packed up the truck and headed the hell out of that hell hole.
We headed off on the long drive to Konzo, we managed to take a wrong turn and travelled for about an hour in the wrong direction. I know how that feels. Stupid Turkish bus drivers, except my Assim of course. After we put ourselves back on the right track, we pulled into the small town on Konzo at about 6pm. We had hotel rooms, which were pretty nice compared to what we are getting used to. Mine and Siobhan's room was about as small as my room at home, except it had two king single beds jammed into it. The bathroom was simple with no working toilet, but we expect that now.
We went down to dinner and walked about 1km up the road in the pitch black, following our guide Daster. We got to the restaurant, which was sort of situated in a garden. They only had eggs, soup or spaghetti. No meat to speak of. Oh well this is Ethiopia, tomorrow we are headed into the Omo Valley to see real tribal life.
