Sharm el Sheikh - Wrap Up
AGGGHHHHH!!!!! I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE, THIS IS PARADISE!!!!
No seriously, eight wonderful days in this place is not enough, maybe I've gone slightly insane with the contrast between here and Cairo, but this place is relaxed up to s***!
I've been quite happy spending whole days just lounging by the pool in my awesome hotel, the Amar Sina…..(which I would recommend to anyone by the way), watching the spunky pool guy, Abdul. Ahem!(See picture)
Happy "hour" is great here, because every pub has a different happy hour, so a pub crawl is really cheap, I bought a round of drinks at the Camel Bar, 4 Sakkara beers and two Jack Daniels for 79 EGP, that's about $15. Even the snazzy European places are still pretty cheap.
People here in general are more relaxed than they are in Cairo, the hassle factor by comparison is pretty much zero.
Sharm is a lot more touristy, which usually I hate, but there were quite a few other single travelers hanging about the place and well, you all know me I make friends easy.
I've managed to suss out a little about what the Egyptians think of everyone:
American = Stupid
British = Walking Wallet
Australian = Won't take Crap
German = Up tight won't speak to me
Russian = Locust(Their exact words)
The food here is also much better, including Kentucky Fried Camel, which I'm ashamed to say I ate yet again, but didn't feel sick after for once.
The people at my hotel have been wonderful, I had my picture taken with everyone before I left, at their request I might add, couldn't do enough for you and never made me feel uncomfortable.
I'm being driven up to Dahab, through the Sinai mountains by a random taxi driver, who I organized to pick me up a few nights ago, so let's see how that goes.
