We left Aswan at about 9:30am this morning for our drive to Luxor, which would only take us until about lunch time. We got there at 1:30pm and just as the truck pulled in, I got a call from Ramez, asking me if I was in town yet. I led another expedition today, this time to the Nobles tombs on the West Bank. We left at 8am and went down to the motorboat port in front of McDonalds. As usual the price told to me by the guy on reception at the hotel was not the price and the motorboat operator wanted 10 EGP each! We managed to get away with a return fare of eight. We got over there and had about three tombs unlocked for us, which was a bit pitiful considering how much we had to pay to go in...

I woke up with a jump at 3am this morning for my trip down to Abu Simbel in the morning police convoy. I got dressed and walked down stairs and waited for the convoy vehicle to turn up. We got onto the bus and then waited in traffic for about 45 minutes for the convoy to get going. Once it got going I put my head phones on and watched the sunrise over the desert out the window.
