Nuremberg was a short stop for us on the train ride between Bamberg and Munich that we decided to stop at for several hours to see a castle. We were only there for about 3 hours but the castle there was worth seeing, it was very well preserved and is a lot like you would imagine a medieval castle. Nuremberg has their own special type of sausage which is the other reason we decided to stop here. They are small, similar to our breakfast links, and our served six at a time. The sausages were good, but there are a lot of Bavarian dishes that I think are much better. However, the highlight of the stop might have been the look on the waiter's face when we told him we didn't want anything to drink. I had ordered the food in German, so he thought I had ordered incorrectly. He asked me about four times in German, then switching to English about four more times, if we really didn't want anything to drink. People in Bavaria cannot understand why someone wouldn't want beer at every meal, it's hilarious. They simply cannot grasp the concept that someone may not want to drink beer (of course for us the reason was monetary), we were probably the only people in the restaurant not drinking. Even the women order big beers here, it's just part of their culture.
