So we're in the Black Forest, which is pretty much just a normal forest, but the city of Freiburg is really medieval-ish, or however else you'd say that. Lots of cobble stone streets here and the old part of the city is what I expected of Germany. This is a mid-sized city but one of my favorites for a city this size, there are pedestrian walkways everywhere, lots of really nice trams throughout the city, and bikes everywhere, no one seems to use a car here. The only architectural site to see was a big cathedral, there are steps all the way to the top of the main tower so we got a good view of the whole city. Some of the old city walls are also still remaining and those are really interesting and medieval looking. Freiburg is only on the outskirts of the Black Forest so tomorrow we'll head into the middle of it. Even though we were only here for a night, I'm definitely glad we stopped by because it's a really nice old fashioned yet modern city.
