Our Eurail doesn't cover the Czech Republic so we don't have any free trains in that country. However, I really wanted to see Prague, so we decided to buy a train ticket there anyway. Trains in Czech aren't very expensive, but we still won't go to any other cities here because we have free trains in other countries. Regardless, knock out another city and country on my list. Prague is similar to Vienna but with a little more of a medieval feeling and without the music and museums. Prague is one of those cities that is better to just walk around without a map and follow winding brick roads to different parts of the city. Barely any of the streets in the old city are paved, they are almost all brick. The buildings are all very nice and there's really no such thing as a wrong turn in this city. Prague can be very touristy at the main attractions, so that's another reason to stray from the map. Prague Castle overlooks the city and it is supposedly one of the largest in Europe. The cathedral within the castle is probably the biggest gothic church we've seen since Barcelona. We climbed the tower in the cathedral and had some amazing views overlooking the city. We pretty much just walked the entire day and saw almost all the old parts of the city, which are very well preserved. After dinner we went to a bar that was almost completely undergrown in old wine cellars. It was a series of about 8 rooms or so that were connected by tunnels, I kind of felt like a hamster, probably the most interesting bar I've seen over here. Overall, Prague is definitely worth a visit, it's a very fun city to walk around, but Vienna is still my favorite eastern city to this point.
