We didn't actually see the city of Rovaniemi, we just trained there to see the country side by train. The arctic circle is only about 3 miles north of the city, so needless to say, it was absolutely freezing up there. We actually have a picture of me standing in front of a grocery store with a temperature sign that reads negative five degrees celsius. Northern Finland is very remote and not quite as scenic as we expected because the pine trees lining the railroad blocked a lot of our views. But at the same time, now we can say we've seen the whole country.
