Day 317, 17 May 2013, South Beach, Miami (Florida). Spent a couple of hours down on the beach watching the beautiful (and not so beautiful) people frolic in the waves. Have come to the conclusion that Miami Vice, CSI Miami, etc etc are a load of bunk. Have seen many policemen in South Beach. They all wear knee length shorts, ride bicycles and have not been witnessed solving crimes in exactly one hour or racing across the bay in cigarette boats. Highly disappointing. Next thing you'll be telling me Captain Stubing won't be greeting us as we board the Love Boat tomorrow. Hmmmm... Must get on to Carnival about that. Holiday weekend due to start here in Miami - sports cars with backseats loaded with Louis Vuitton have been seen arriving. The money is rolling into town it seems. Can't believe we're moving on tomorrow! (Speaking of cars... there are some cracking pieces of American metal history parked all around South Beach - see picture!)
