Day 316, 16 May 2013, South Beach, Miami (Florida). We cruised up and down Collins Avenue looking in the shops this morning. Our bags are at capacity (or at about 120% if you were to listen to the bags...) so need nothing and bought nothing, but fun never the less. Lunchtime was an extravaganza of tasty treats at David's Cafe on Collins - for $8.95 each (+ tax and tip of course) we had an all you can eat Cuban buffet. Turns out Cuban food does not differ in any great regard to regular food - aside perhaps from the addition of fried plantain to the choices. Definitely going back there again. Spent the afternoon basting and roasting James at the beach for suitable Caribbean looking tan. Coming along nicely. Due to cost minimisation procedures in effect and considering the forthcoming ocean cruise it was "ding for dinner" - making use of our microwave and kitchenette. After dinner we strolled down Ocean Drive and listened to the live music pouring out of the bars and restaurants... exceedingly economical evening out - the novelty of neon lit art deco buildings and the thrum of spanish guitars, saxophones and even a double bass... not yet worn off.
