Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
This morning we headed to The Pinnacles and had the option of driving a 4km track around them or doing a 1.5km loop walk. We chose the walk as we would have had to disconnect the camper to drive around and thought it would be better to get up close to them by walking. In hindsight though, it would have been better to drive around as it was quite a large area and we could have seen a lot more and stopped when we wanted to. The Pinnacles were interesting and are more fragile than I expected. There were quite a few that had fallen or been knocked over and for such a tall structure there isn't much holding the base to the ground. We challenged the boys to find a pinnacle the same height as each of us which helped to keep them entertained along the way.
We then went to Lancelin in an attempt to do some sandboarding down the dunes. We knew there was a chance it wouldn't be great with all the bad weather but took the short detour anyway. The dunes were good but were quite damp so the sliding down them didn't go so well.
A short drive away was our camp at Ledge Point. It was a great caravan park with ************e there. The sites were large and grassy and had good amenities. After setting up the weather turned horrible with it being freezing cold, raining and windy. We spent most of our time in the large recreation room, watching t.v., reading magazines and playing pool while the boys played with toys. Late afternoon when it stopped raining, we went to the playground and jumping pillow. It was great, especially for Liam as the sides weren't very high so he could climb on himself. It warmed everyone up and Zach thought Matt looked like a "fairy tale horse" (see pic).
