FESTIVALS
Chinese New Year
We only stayed for a little bit because it was so busy. It all took place in China Town within the City. Masses of people all jostling for position to see the dragons and events going on. Managed to glimpse a couple. Also saw the Mayor of Melbourne who is chinese I think, and sampled lots of lovely Chinese food.
Happy Year of the Rat everyone!
Japanese Festival
Similar to the other festivals we've been to. There were lots of stalls and demonstrations and music and shows on offer. Another good experience and example of what a multi-cultural place Melbourne is. Really enjoying seeing and speaking to people from all sorts of places around the world. It was a really hot day though (around 35 degrees C) so again we couldn't stay for too long.
Comedy Festival/Food and Wine Festival
Both coming up soon and we can't wait! Lots of performers from Edinburgh come to the Melbourne one so it should be excellent. Have booked some tickets already, and our birthdays are in the middle so that's good. Also planning to go to the biggest Barbie in the World in Fed Square for the Food and Wine Festival. Will update soon...

PS. Lots of other photos on the site so check them out. Eg Cooks Cottage which was transported all the way from Yorkshire and reminded us both of home.
