Day 6 Kings Canyon and Alice Springs Despite our requests for a lie in, Jen made us get up early again for what turned out to be a fantastic walk through Kings Canyon. The terrain was really varied and the walking was excellent. Day 5 Uluru/Olgas Another early start (4.30am) so that we could make it to the Rock for sunrise. It turned out that the sunrise viewing area fills up pretty quick with other people doing the same as us, but despite the hundreds of watchers, it was spectacular seeing the different colours on the rock and the clouds as the sun slowly rose behind us… more inspiring photo opportunities. Day 4 Uluru A 3.30am start, apparently so that we could make it all the way to Uluru, about 800kms through the outback. Although the bus was pretty uncomfortable and the driving was long, we really enjoyed seeing the red centre and getting a feel for the vast-ness of Australia.
