Katharine and Jonny were up through the night and so was the dog so neither Nick or I were keen to get up this morning. We read for a while in bed and only got up when the dog barked so much because she thought it was time for her breakfast. Pity for other campers made me get out of bed and feed her!! There was no more rain overnight so the kids went out to play while Nick topped the van up with water and I began to pack up. We were on the road by 9am and it was only an hour's drive to Quagi Beach. The camp was down an 8km dirt track off the main highway and it was the remotest I've felt all year!! There were 12 sites at the camp altogether and only 5 of them were taken. We managed to find a great spot opposite the toilets that was far away from everyone else. Unfortunately the site was on a bit of a slope so while Nick tried to level the caravan I took the kids and the dogs off to explore the beach. The beach was not very long but there were fantastic rock pools out on the point and plenty of shells to find. The dog was in heaven running around but we only had a short walk and then went back to get Nick. He was chatting to the rangers when we got back so we paid our $5 a night camp fee and then had a cup of coffee before heading back to the beach for a big explore of the rock pools. After lunch we were very disciplined and did a couple of hours of schoolwork before heading back down to the beach for another walk, this time walking the other side. By the time we got back to the van it was time to start dinner and Nick and Katharine cooked a risotto together with some garlic bread. The kids were allowed to skip showers as we are conserving water so that we can last here as long as possible. Once everyone was ready for bed we watched a movie and fell asleep listening to the waves.
