The boys woke up horrifically early, around 430am and because it was light thought they could get up and play. That woke the dog up, which meant the rest of us were soon awake too. By 530am we were shattered so sent everyone back to bed until 7!! We started the day with a walk down at the beach and it was magic. The kids have a special rock pool they have filled with cowrie shells and they sail dried cuttle fish in it - they call it Cowrie Island!! They wanted to sit and play for a while so Nick and I sat and had a chat on a rock while they played. Hunger drove us back to the van and we had a huge breakfast once we got back. We spent the morning doing schoolwork but enthusiasm seems to be decreasing the closer the end is!! After lunch we went back down to the beach for a swim but it was far too windy and unpleasant. The kids had a very quick dip and then everyone wanted to go back to the van. They had a hot chocolate once they were dressed to warm up and then they started playing card games so Nick and I sat outside and spent the afternoon playing scrabble. We had a BBQ for dinner and by 730pm the three smaller kids were fast asleep in bed. The rest of us read for an hour but we were fast asleep by 9pm!!
