As the Hilders were all working today we packed up after breakfast, said goodbye and were on the road by 9am. The kids were all devastated at leaving and even Tally dropped the lip! The drive across to Bunbury was a new one for me and it's a lot prettier then the drive to Perth. We had to stop in Collie as the kids needed the toilet and we got to College Grove, a suburb on the outskirts of Bunbury, around 1130am. First impressions of Bunbury were not so good as the caravan park is scrappy and backs on to the highway, which is very noisy. There is a playground, swimming pool, trampoline and mini golf at the park but our site was miles away from it. Feeling flat and a little despondent we decided to go for a drive to the beach and check out some rental houses along the way. We drove around the Bunbury Primary School area first and it's a great looking little school. The streets around it are full of lovely old weatherboard homes and there are some great shops nearby. We saw a house that will become available to view next week and it looked great from the outside. We called into a bakery and bought some lunch for everyone - fantastic, what a find and hopefully on our doorstep!! We drove to back beach, parked the car and ate our lunch overlooking the ocean. The beach is beautiful and while we were sat there we saw a pod of dolphins playing. Dogs are allowed on the beach at either end of the main swimming beach by the surf life saving club, where there is also a very nice looking restaurant. We walked up and down the beach for a while and poor Tally got into her first fight with a pit bull type dog that nipped her cheek and made her yelp - luckily no blood was drawn but not a good start for the dog or the kids who were quite upset. At 3 we met a real estate agent who showed us around a 4-bedroom house overlooking the beach. The location was fantastic but unfortunately the house was too small as there was no out door area and only one small sitting room. We followed the agent to a second house that was fantastic inside with a bedroom each for the kids but it only had a small decked area at the back and the dog would have to live outside. We came home feeling quite despondent again and settled on McDonalds for dinner for the kids. We watched a bit of TV before trying to get to sleep but it wasn't easy with the traffic noise or the airplane that sounded like it was landing on our roof around 11pm!!
