Woken up before 8am by the kids wanting their Ipod's charged - worse things we ever bought them! Sat outside and had a coffee and the breeze was already hot, so I did a couple of loads of washing while Nick began breakfast. Once everyone had finished, we started schoolwork and made another batch of shortbread - its going down a treat now we've finished Grandma's Christmas cake! We had to put the air con on in the van as nobody could concentrate today and when we emerged a few hours later the temperature had dropped, the wind had picked up and it looked like rain!! We headed off in the car and explored Hindmarsh Island for half an hour or so before heading home for lunch. I made lasagna for dinner (can definitely justify the thermomix now) and then we all headed back to Victor Harbour to find 'Lampshade' a birthday present (K's best friend in WA). Unfortunately, by the time we walked the causeway to Granite Island the gift shop was shut. Annie dropped the lip big time, as the only way we could get her to make the walk was the promise of an ice cream at the other end! To cheer her up we took her to Horseshoe Bay for a swim which was magic. Called in to Woollies on the way home so that we could have burgers and chips for dinner instead of my awesome lasagna (!!!). Spent the rest of the evening chatting to new neighbours from Victoria who told us about some free camping places and websites offering discounts for some caravan parks - it's all about who you know!!
