The kids all had a sleep in this morning and as Nick and I didn't want to wake them we lay in bed reading despite the lure of coffee. I finished another book - I haven't read so much in ages! We spent the morning doing more schoolwork. It takes about 2 hours to get everyone through a bit of English and math's and they all like the one on one tuition. The boys are not as advanced mathematically as we had thought, so we hope that this year away will at least improve their math skills if nothing else! Annie seems to be absorbing her own work as well as listening in to what the boys are taught! We had an early lunch and then went to Hahndorf for the afternoon. Hahndorf is a very pretty German town in the Adelaide Hills, full of charm and shady tree lined streets. We walked up and down the main street, which was a killer being full of lolly shops, ice creams and chocolate. We eventually stopped at 'Chocolate No 5' and had a great cappuccino while the kids had an ice cream. Next we drove to Beerenberg Farm where we had planned to pick some strawberries but a massive coach arrived just before us and the shop was packed. It was also going to cost $8 to enter the fields plus $10 a kilo for the strawberries, so instead we headed home and stopped off at a roadside stall that sold them for half the price already picked!! As we weren't in a hurry to get home we decided to take a detour through the centre of Adelaide and drove down the streets we didn't get to see yesterday. I was very proud of my map reading skills as we didn't go wrong once - or get stressed!! We got back to the van around 5pm and just as we pulled into the park Matty and Jonny had a wrestling match and Matty knocked Jonny's tooth out! Both were then grounded to the van for the rest of the day, which ended up being more of a punishment to Nick and me! After dinner we walked the beach and watched a magic sunset then the plan was for early beds all round but it was still gone 9am by the time the kids got to bed - time just seems to disappear here!

Susannah Hello All, Thanks for all the comments and messages so far. We love reading them every evening before adding to the blog. We have tried replying but for some reason the replies don't send through the blog. Instead I'm emailing everyone individually but it is taking a little while! xx
