Keeping this brief.
First day of work was interesting as I really didn't know what to do as I was expecting to watch the lessons first before teaching few days later. But no, I started teaching straight away which was hard work because I realised the level of english of every individual was so different. Some of them couldn't understand, some of them could understand but couldn't write, some of them could write but couldn't spell, it was very hard and tiring day to work out everyone's level so I can start planning lessons.
Rest of the first week; I taught alphabet, colours and clothes. But I had to adapt some as some pupils couldn't follow. I have faced some clever kids, some cocky kids, some clever but very quiet kids so I'm constantly trying to get everyone involved. One boy cried cos he couldn't spell purple right and rest of class laughed at him, so I made others to spell it too, figured out that some of them couldn't aswell so this made them be more respectful.
We get tea break at 10.55-11.15am every morning, we start at 9am and finish at 2pm. But during very hot weather, the classes is sort of outside so it's boiling hot, with lots of flies so it is annoying. The blackboard is so worn out that sometimes kids can't really see the writings so I have to write very hard or ask kids to come around to copy what I've written. It is very different over England, I'm such a lucky girl to have such a good education with many equipments.
On friday, I had the worst day so far, had a full day and two awful groups; who wouldn't learn and I felt it was about age as some of them were 19, 20 years old so they must felt annoyed that they had me as 19 years old teaching them so I had to explain I was here to help, and I really like it here etc, it seems to have put them in a bit better mood but I felt like s*** on Friday.

Mick canavan Great experience but tough I'd imagine....Still, hopefully after 8 weeks the kids will improve their English and you can pat yourself on the back! x
Flo Wow, you sound like a real natural at teaching! You're doing everything right after so little training. I really admire your mature attitude and I'm so so so so proud of you. Teaching is tough - you're a real star! I'm sure the kids will all love you, no matter how old they are. xx
