This morning we (Sara and I) got a tuk to Colombo; which took about an hour and for a good price! It was different from what we expected, it was busy yes but not as busy we thought it would be. We went to the Pettah Market and we wanted lunch but there were hardly any cafes! So we went to McDonalds and ordered a McChicken meal. It was so nice that I wanted to order one more but I decided to not to. We decided not to return to the market as we didn't really like it.
We then took a little stroll along the shops and then we got a deal with a tuk man for 300rupees for an hour. So we went to Carnival where they do good milkshakes, ice creams and sundaes. Then went to a buddha temple which was amazing and the tuk man was our guide. We took so many of photographs and it was just amazing.
We were really pleased we went and I wanted to take photograph with temple but it is seen rude if you turn your back to one so I had to kneel sideways and keep my back away from them. It was interesting and then to our surprise we saw an elephant outside! It was a young female, seven years old and she was so cute! I also got a chance to come so close up and touch her, she was so big and so adorable! It was a bit sad to see her chained up but just unreal to be this close to an elephant.
Then we asked the man to go to bus station as we needed to meet Sandra and Francesca.
To our disbelief he took us to a jewellery gem shop and spend ages trying to get us buy something, we declined and left. The man took us to the bus stop and tried to rip us off as he said 300 rupees for an hour, he chose to delay time and we told him an hour was almost done, he told us it was ok but he then charged us 1,200 rupees. We only gave him 500 rupees and made our way to the bus stop.
