We arrived at the school to find out that we were not needed so got sent to work in primary school. I was really excited because I LOVE CHILDREN! My excitement then faded away.
It was hell. I had six children but three of them would not behave at all, so I had to be a 'horrible' teacher and the other three children were such angels. A boy started talking about porn so I told him to stop and how old he was..to my disbelief he was ten! I was disgusted at the things he was saying, I didn't even know those things when I was ten so I told him to stop and focus on the new words that he learnt in the class. Just as when I turned around I saw the girl looking horrified so I looked back quickly, the boy actually stood up and pretended to grope my arse. I told him if he carries on, I would bring the vice principal in and that shut him up.
I carried on teaching colours and shapes. The good three children was so interested and keen to write on the board so I let them. They were really respectful and thanked me when I corrected them. Then the teacher came back, she was late and just kicked me out of the class. So I left and joined in the class Sara was teaching and I was so shocked as it was a bigger group.
They were behaving so bad, Sara looked really fed up so I took three boys on the right which noticeably was not paying any attention to Sara and looked through their books. I was so impressed with one of student's drawings and I noticed he was obsessed with superheroes so I told Sara about this. She then had a good idea to start drawing superman's logo and then the boys LOVED it. They went and drew things by themselves.
Then the bell went and we found out we were done for the day. We were disappointed because we really want to teach english at the secondary school so we went back to the office to talk to someone. We finally found out that it was due the exams that the students were taking this week, so we didn't need to come in this week at all and we were disappointed we weren't told about this. But we definitely decided that the primary school is just not for us.

Flo You really are BRILLIANT at teaching. I wonder where you get this from ... :) The way you deal with bad behaviour and picking up on that boy's talent at drawing and using it to bring everyone to focus - amazing. I'm sure that class will remember you! I'm proud of you. xxx
