After work on Friday, I enjoyed the 90minutes ride on an air conditioned coach to Galle as it is the best thing in this terrible heat! When we arrived at Galle, we all caught a bus to Unawatuna which took about 10 minutes and arrived at our guest house. It was 500 rupees a night which is SO CHEAP. So we planned to stay til monday morning.
We all chilled out for a bit before pampering up to go out for dinner. We went out to the Happy Banana which is literally on the beach, ordered some drinks to wait for the waiter to come get our food order and I bought a cocktail to treat myself (it was just heaven).
We finally managed to get our food about 10/10.30pm, was so starving and the food was lovely (as I opted for chicken mushroom). We all stayed there til late, I decided to go back a bit earlier as I felt really crowded on the dance floor with lots of pervy men coming close to us, ew. So snuggled up in the beautiful four poster bed which I shared with Sara and Francesca, plenty of room. :)
On saturday morning, we all woke up roughly at 10am and went for breakfast. Other volunteers decided to go to Galle Fort whereas few of us wanted to chill after a busy week. I had spinach omelette with a milkshake and then chilled on a sunbed under an umbrella on the beach.
There were many people walking up and down the beach trying to sell us things, which became annoying at the end as we were trying to relax. A man carrying a snake and a monkey came to us, we were so keen to take photographs with them but he was going to charge us 1,500rupees to take photograph with both of animal so he told us he'd do 200 rupees for both so I took photograph with the snake and when I saw the man telling Rosie that it was 200rupees each so I didn't take a photo with the monkey unfortunately. The monkey also looked so scared so I felt so bad as it didn't have its own wild life.
Later on, there was a guy walking with two bowls balancing on a stick which was on his shoulder, posed for me when I wanted to take photograph of him which turned out so beautiful as it was so Sri Lankan.
I bought few postcards from an old man who was selling some cashew nuts and postcards, bless his little heart and he was so tired. So buying postcards from him had made him smile.
Few minutes later the beautiful weather has changed completely, to awful tropical rain whilst the heat was still there so we ran for the shelter in a restaurant and ordered some drinks to wait.
When the weather cleared up in about half hour, we all ran back to the beach to chill for next few hours and the others returned from the Galle Fort, along with Stephen and Duffy. It was lovely to see them two again as we were put in different places.
We later then got ready to go out to a hotel called the Flower Garden for 3courses meal. The deaf volunteers (including me) and Rosie went, and we were so full. The food was excellent and I was feeling so happy. Then we found out the place we were in had WIFI so those who had Iphone called home, via facetime which I was so gutted as I didn't have one. So Stephen offered, so I called my baby sister which end up so blurry so it was cut short, I was gutted so called my dad and I got the surprise of my life. My nanny came up on the screen, the twins, my grandad, aunty Julie and my dad. I talked to them for a little bit. When I was done, I felt so happy and stronger about next few weeks.
So went to bed very happy and slept great.
On sunday, we all went for a breakfast before catching bus to Mirissa beach and I was not feeling right so I wasn't sure what to do. To stay in bed or go out, and I realised I would not have other chance to explore. So I decided to go, after cheap journey to there, the beach was not that beautiful as we all expected it to be and we were disappointed. The weather was not that good, but so cool which was a nice change and it rained a little bit. Will and Charles dived in, then some girls followed and I couldn't be bothered to swim so I stayed on the sun bed, ordered a chocolate milkshake and chips later on which was lush.
I then later on walked along the beach to look at what was on other end, it was so worth it as saw some pretty rocks, steps and signs.
We left the beach about 5pm, and I sat next to Charles on my bus journey back home, was the first time we properly talked and we talked about few things which were interesting. He was really nice, I wasn't shy to talk to him as I normally find it a bit difficult to use my voice but looks like i'm overcoming my shyness about it.. just a little bit as they are really friendly, really makes an effort to make conversations/get to know me.
We all arrived to get ready to go out for a meal, last meal together which was lovely and I was feeling a bit upset that there was WIFI so Frankie and Sara contacted thier family when I was just sat there wishing I could talk to my parents and sister. So when hearing volunteers decided to leave, I went with them when the girls stayed behind to stay on facetime and I was talking to Emma. The group front of us walked pretty fast and disappeared. I was fine talking to Emma, she's lovely and I felt something was behind us, like a shadow so I looked behind...to my disbelief it was a guy masturbating on his bicycle. BEHIND US!! I grabbed Emma and told her, she didn't see so she was like 'are you sure?' I was like 'I'm very sure, I wouldn't joke about it, I swear he was masturbating' so we walked really fast and he went past us, so we panicked a little. When we approached Rosie and Lucy, we were so relieved and the guy came back still doing it. Then he decided to stop, and let his penis hanging out, passing us which was just disgusting. We locked our bedroom door as I was worried if he'd come back. When girls came back, I told them what happened and they couldn't believe it. I was so ever glad they were back with me.
On monday morning, we went to cafe for breakfast and did bit of shopping. I bought some presents for some people so far :)
We paid the guest house owner and got bus to Galle. The hearing volunteers went back home first whereas Sara, Francesca and I wanted to go to Galle Fort. So we went and it was SO WORTH IT. So beautiful.
Then we all travelled back to Maharagama on the coach, and changed buses. Sara and I headed back to Homagama whereas Sandra and Francesca headed back to Colombo to get bus to thier school.
It was pouring down with rain when I and Sara looked for our bus. So we were soaked wet when we were on the bus back, and when we arrived at Homagama it was still raining so we decided to get TUK to go home.
We were so pleased to come home to our things, our beds and our fridge.

Mick canavan 500 rupees for a night in guest house? 200 rupees for a minute with a snake...hmmmmm...how many rupees do you get for a pound? It was great seeing you on facetime, brought a lump to my throat. Laying on the beach with a chocolate milkshake and chips... This sounds like a real luxurious holiday well, except for the guy w***ing on the bike....how bizarre....crazy world innit. Glad you are safe though...next time kick him where it hurts! x
