Another glorious day, the temperature at midday was 27 degrees, and was even hotter in the afternoon. Amazingly we're coming to the end of week two. After breakfast Rob and I walked our mile round the Promenade Deck, deck 7. Then I sat and read on the shady side of the deck until lunchtime.
This is an odd sector as tomorrow in Rio is a changeover day, but the sector doesn't actually finish until Sunday in Montevideo. Consequently things are getting a little confused and today was the last day of Battle of the Sexes. The men won, despite being outnumbered by the opposition. I captained the men on one sector in 2013 and this was my second time (although I was shanghaied this time around) and I'm pleased to say my winning record is still intact.
It was extremely hot playing deck quoits and I was grateful to lose in the first round. After a cup of tea, I hit the jacuzzi, unfortunately, I'd forgotten that unlike Royal Caribbean, P&O ships don't have a shelter overhead and I'd left my hat in the cabin, so could only stay in for a few minutes.
Won my third gold sticker in the Individual Quiz. As it's changeover day, suitcases started to appear in the corridors, I saw four outside one cabin at four o'clock which seems somewhat premature as they usually ask for them by eleven in the evening.
Lost both quizzes tonight, then early to bed as early start and a long tour in Rio tomorrow.
