A day of doing b***** all! The weather was a beautiful 27 degrees. After breakfast in the Glasshouse with Rob, Linda and Barbara (unplanned, we all arrived at much the same time), and my mile around the Promenade Deck, B and I just sat on the shady side of the ship and chatted until lunch time.
Battle of the Sexes was half an hour later, as the Ligurian Level members had their lunch today. (That's the highest level in the loyalty club, and I'm never likely to attain it). The men increased their lead again. Lost in the first round of deck quoits, so watched the crew v passengers cricket match until Barbara had finished her game. Then it was tea and more chat on the back deck until Individual Quiz time. Finally won my second gold sticker in that quiz. After that news came the bad. Clocks go forward tonight, I didn't realise Brazil had more than one time zone, I rather naively thought we'd stay on the same time until we rounded the tip of the continent.
Black and white night tonight and we ate in the Beach House to celebrate Yvonne and Barbara's birthdays, which were both in the week before we left Southampton. I'd seen the menu online beforehand, but wasn't impressed, I thought the one that it replaced in the Pennant Grill was better. I was wrong, we had an excellent meal, and afterwards we sat at the back of the ship in our black and white finery, looking at the stars. An excellent evening.
Since the last world cruise P&O have moved from silver service to plated meals and it's a great improvement. In fact, I think that the quality of the food has taken a step up.
