Set alarm for 7:00 to get up early as theres so much to see here in KL and seen as its more expensive than anywhere else we've been, we only plan on staying here 1 week! We didn't get up until 10 mind!!! Was out by ten thirty still! We booked a hop on hop off bus tour for £7 each, which was such a good idea as you can choose as many of the main 42 sights there are to see around KL that you have time for!
Caught it right outside our hotels doorstep, straight away! Slightly better start to our day today :) our first stop we wasted as as we got off at the first stop around the corner from our hotel so we could go eat! We'd just taken a malaria tablet and they make you feel so sick if you don't take them whilst eating! Took us 15 minutes walking around central market to find somewhere to eat and ended up having to get subway! Kill me!
10 minutes here then got back to the bus stop and waited twenty minutes for next bus, so 50 minutes in between the buses, not 30 as advertised!!
Went to little India next, not a lot to do but nice to see all the brightly coloured buildings, everything's very built up here! They sell so much gold jewellery and muslim clothing, as well as Indian head dresses! Doesn't take anymore than half an hour, it's only one street full of stores, with a water feature at the end, decorated with elephants!
Met Koreans at the bus stop, the dad was stood there videoing us on his phone! Awkward!!!!! He said I'm very handsome and tried to set me up with his daughter... Err nah!
Went to national museum, where it tells you all about Muslim culture, tried going with an open mind as I hardly agree with certain issues, got to the part about forcing circumcision for not just boys, but also girls at a young age too and the arranged marriages and I still don't think it's a good idea! The only good part was walking around looking at all the clothes and headdresses, some are beaut!
The bus then stopped off at the National palace, not allowed to go all the way up to to the entrance of the building, the king was in bed asleep! So stopped at the front gate which is just as epic and royal looking! Couldn't see through the windows either as there uv protected to stop the sun from damaging anything inside!
The bus then drove along National monument, built by the British some time in the past, it's 7 statues represent love, honour, respect etc.. I'm currently writing this blog as I'm on a sat on a bus whilst Annie's half asleep, I asked her what they represent and she said dopey, sneezy, sleepy and suicidal! I don't think she payed much attention! It's built in the middle of a contemporary reflective pool at the top of a hill, with an amazing view of KL's skyline! Beaut, but then it started to rain whilst here :(
So we would have walked around bird park, orchid garden, hibiscus gardens and more here in the national park if we weren't soaked through! My iPhone most gave up on me and I nearly had a heart attack! It would mean everything is lost!
So we waited for the next bus and dried out on there for 40 minutes or so until we got to the Petronas Towers! They look amazing! We Want to walk across the bridge that joins them but maybe another day when it's sunny! :)
We walked around the shopping mall that takes up the first four floors, the shops are slightly pricey... Gucci, Luis Vuitton, Prada, Bvlgari, Chanel, Hermes, Yves Saint Lauren, Calvin Klein, Swarovski, Monté blanc, Clinique, MAC and a Clarins spa, are just a few of what are on offer! You name it, they've got it! I went to a Pandora to see the prices of the charms, as I've got mine on today, she said she could wash it for me for free! We didn't have the time though and I felt I would have to buy something! :/
We sat and had a latté in a cafe overlooking the centre column of the towers! They had free magazines like Hello and okay! Okay was English! So good to read English writing after so long and find out what's going on in the celebrity world! Hello magazine was written in English but with local Asian celebrity's! It had a few pages with Kate Middleton in, planning her trip to Malaysia apparently?
We then took the bus back, now 5:50 the bus turned up and said we couldn't get on as they finish at 6:00! Stood there in the middle of the quadro-lane carriageway arguing with the driver get beeped at from every direction until he gave in and agreed to take us back to Chinatown!
We went to McDonalds on the way home, sat scoffing our hungry fat faces full, when I liked around and realised we were the only people eating! Everyone else in the restaurant was muslim and sat around waiting for 7:30pm so they could begin to eat! I nearly spat out my fries! I completely didn't realise why everyone was staring, they said it was okay for us to eat though I think they were just looking because they were jel?
That night we walked around the market again, seems rude not too seen as we live 5 doors down! Everything here is amazing, really want a new pair of shoes and some T-shirts!!! I got a new plain IPhone case as mines turned yellow/brown! Cost £2! They have loads to choose from with every Disney character, every joke, every fake designer make but I just want the plain protective one for now, until I fly home that is!
When we got back home to the room i couldnt sleep untill 3:00! And we have to be up tomorrow! :( I'd rather die than wake up early! :/
