I didn't see Da Today to say goodbye, Annie was too upset and crying saying bye :( we left the room to get food for the day from the 7-11, we got so much food to fill us up and ended up costing under £2 each! It's sooooo cheap here!
Went to book taxi to the airport which cost 160,000Dong, £4.60. Was supposed to be here within five minutes, and ended up taking over 40! Good job we plan enough time for these important things! Otherwise we wouldn't be leaving, and I'd be deported... :(
Really excited to go on a plane, we've not been on one yet since travelling to Thailand but really scared also as all we've heard about Air Asia is how bad they are! They run behind schedule, planes are cramped and uncomfortable and aren't up to standard... Sounds like ryan air! God help me with me 64 mile long legs!
Flight was delayed by 40 minutes but we were glad as we were pre-occupied spraying ourselves with aftershaves in the duty free! So good job otherwise we have missed it anyway! Duty free is the most expensive shop In Asia! But when we got on it, it was actually really spacious!!! Asians clearly don't know anything when it comes to low fair economy flights! Try flying with Easyjet!
It was scarily really empty though, don't think ive been on a plane with only 29 people on board! :/ creepy!
Zorro said the flight would take 2 hours, the Lonely Planet guide said it takes three hours, so naturally we set ourselves up for a 5 hour flight! We were there in 55 minutes?!!
At the airport, changed money and paid £8 for a taxi which took over an hour! Later we found out that taking the train is cheaper and apparently the taxi is a con but, saved the hassle of swapping trains and buses!! Were greeted by yellow fever prevention signs everywhere in the airport and quarantine rooms everywhere! There were that many jabs that I didn't have time to get before I came travelling, I have no clue wether or not I've had it... :/ anything to declare..? Just an infectious epidemic, nothing serious!
It was raining pretty bad as we drove to Kuala Lumpur City but still a beautiful country, with lots of greenery and a mass of palm trees everywhere!
Theres 3 areas that are mainly guesthouses for us to choose from, one cheap but ages away from the city centre, golden triangle which is closest but apparently ridden with bed bugs! And then Chinatown! I decided Chinatown as its reasonably priced and not too far from the KLCC! Also it doesn't really matter anyway if you stay in the heart of somewhere cool like this! We checked into the first guesthouse in Chinatown called backpackers inn, you have to walk through a restaurant to get to the stairs up to it! Random! It has a dorm and we dont like the dormitory vibe... we feel a little unsafe so maybe well just stay for tonight! It's the cheapest one around here though to still have a private room and bathroom!
We went downstairs in the restaraunt to eat, the food in Malaysialooks amazing! As if I thought you couldn't get any better than Vietnanese food! I had pork in special sauce, don't ask what the special is.., tasted amazing though! It was just like a sweet, sticky BBQ sauce I reckon! They know what there doing though it was one if those, I feel so fat and bloated I can't carry on but it tastes too good to waste moments! We probs shouldn't have got a whole plate full of spring rolls to share too then? Ha!
We then didn't have enough money to pay with! But they didn't care they said bring it later so we brought it straight back!
Annie had trouble with money and card her cards been declined as she entered the information wrong and sorting it out from another country is impossible!
She asked her mum to fix it but took a few hours of crying/arguing amongst the two of them and the bank to get it sorted. It got to 10:30pm and she still couldn't use it... She wasn't happy so we went to go shopping... That usually does the trick!
We walked all over China town! Clothes are so nice! Shoes are amazing! Bags! Jewellery! One of the best markets we've been too, not for local things but cheap fakes and knock off, believable gear! I could spend a fortune!
Looked at jewellery, costs 160Dong, £31 for a ring! Made from steel! Not sure if it's nickel though, If so my finger WILL fall off, FACT!
