After 9 weeks back home in Perth, Julie and I spent 28 hours traveling by plane, train and automobile back to our second home in Lucca Italy to find a country that was nothing like we had left. With good rains and sun in the later part of winter and the beginning of spring, everything is green and growing, all the trees now have leaves again and the grasses are two feet tall, and the air is cleaner with little to no burning off happening and the need for heating no longer required. The birds are constantly in song making the whole place feel like it has been reborn.
We are very keen to get back on the road to see a countryside of green dotted with all the colours of the wild flowers that are also everywhere.
We have a few things to sort before we head off to Venice. We have a little work to do to the bike, this includes cleaning it, it has been under cover for the last four months, but it has still had snow, rain and dust getting on to it, and the odd spider too!
