Day 11 - Bramwell Station We were a little late leaving Coen this morning - Kade needed a quick trip to the local "hospital". His throat was sore again so we needed to get him checked out and another lot of antibiotics. The staff were very helpful. Day 10 - Coen Another wet night and another wet tent to pack up this morning. We headed out of the camp ground and along Battle Camp Road. A quick stop at Isabella Falls for a photo. The dirt road was very bumpy and lots of large pot holes. Next stop was Old Laura Homestead and a little look around. Day 9 - Elim It rained over night again so everything was quite wet for the pack up this morning. We travelled a nice short distance (about an hour) to Elim which is also on the coast. We had a chance to drive through a few puddles on the way in which Jack thought was great. We could see the "coloured sands" from the camp ground, but couldn't drive there as the tide was coming in. Day 8 - Cooktown This morning was a bit of a "sleep in" and a slow start, time for some washing. We headed into the market in town, finished looking in a few minutes then shopped for the essentials - groceries. A quiet afternoon, swim, fishing, reading, relaxing. Kade, Nick, Paddy and Isla caught a fish or two, or three each with 2 that came home for tea. We are ready to head off again tomorrow, venturing further up the Cape.

Day 7 - Cooktown It was a lazy morning this morning, complete with "cafe style" coffees in the Roberts' caravan. Eventually we got on the road and travelled the very lazy 45 minutes to the Lions Den Hotel. This was a stop ear marked on the map from the first day we started planning the trip as this pub is in Nick's Great Aussie Pubs book.
