Day 1 - On the road
We left home at 8:30 on Friday night and drove through the night with Nick and Sally taking turns at driving and sleeping. The kids travelled well after an initial spew stop less than an hour from home!
Stopped at Dubbo for breakfast.
Next stop Gulargambone for a kick of the footy and to feelthe warmth of some sunshine. On to Walgett for a morning tea stop and a bit more footy kicking.
We travelled on to Lightening Ridge and stopped at the Artisian Basin pools which is a thermal pool. Our original though was to just feel what the water was like but we couldn't help ourselves and after feeling just how nice it was, out came the bathers and we had a swim - so hot!
One final stop to break the drive at Dirranbandi for a frothy at the pub.
Finally pulled up stumps at St George, beautiful little town with green grass after seeing nothing but bear red earth for hours on end today.
Tea at the pub - couldn't be bothered cooking!
