Day 26 - Undara Lava Tubes Today started out with a little bit of bad luck - the car won't start! We called the RACQ and had to pack up the tent while we waited for him to arrive. Unfortuantely, when he got to us around lunch time, he couldn't get the car started - it needs to be towed to Atherton to be fixed. Day 25 - Undara This morning we packed up from Millaa Millaa, it was quite cold over night and the tent was wet again from the dew. We headed out to do the "waterfall curcuit" and called in at Millaa Millaa Falls, Zillie Falls (complete with walking on the track throught the rainforest to the bottom of the falls) and Ellinjaa Falls. We then headed along the scenic route around the mountains to Ravenshoe, it was a beautiful drive with lots of open rolling hills...

Day 24 - Milla Milla We headed further south today and our first stop was at the Split Rock Aboriginal Paintings just outside of Laura. They were quite facinating as were the rock formations themselves. Next stop - Mount Carbine Hotel for a beer/soft drink. This is quite a quirky pub with some great photos of crocodiles and pigs on the walls. Next - Mareeba for some supplies - the fridge and "pantry" were almost completely empty. Day 23 - Laura On the road again - today we travelled from Weipa to Laura. The road was dirty, dusty and bumpy most of the way.

Day 22 - Weipa Time for another McKay Family Adventure - we headed north again to the small community of Mapoon and the beach at Cullen Point. The beach was beautiful with lovely white sand and beautiful blue water (and crocodiles!) so no swimming here. We walked along the beach and saw a track where a turtle had come up the beach to lay her eggs and also an egg (probably from a bird) in the sand.
