Today we hopped out of bed early and got ourselves ready to head to the skyrail. The skyrail goes from Smithfield to Kuranda. the skyrail is 7.5 km long and the highest tower is over 40m high! The views were amazing. We could see the rainforest, the ocean and the farmland.
We stopped off and walked around the boardwalk in the rainforest and saw many different types of trees and learnt about how they grow.
Second stop was at Barron Falls. It was beautiful and so high, but not much water going over the falls at the moment.
At Kuranda we walked around the town and market. Kade bought some kangaroo fur, Paddy bought some special gems/rocks, Isla bought some earings and Cal bought - nothing.
We also bought some hot beer sausage - and yes, it is HOT! Paddy's throat is now burnt. The kids were also excited to try emu, kangaroo and crocodile jerky.
Walking up the stairs from the rock museum, Kade managed to drop his thong under the stairs and into the caged exhibit, caused a little bit of anguish, but we got it back.
After the skyrail we had a look around the centre of Cairns for an hour and then headed back to the park for a quick swim and tea.
Thanks to the Juniors for sending the messages to us, we loved reading them at lunch time. Kade's throat is all better now and he is back to his cheeky self, you should be happy we've taken him away from you for a while.
We saw a massive grasshopper in the camp kitchen - it was about 10cm long!
